Artists / Paul Stork

b.1955

Paul Stork is an artist living in Austinmer on the New South Wales coast.  He enjoys painting on location and sometimes finishes the work in his studio. This approach allows him to simplify the subject and create a minimal appearance which gives  a strong focus to his work. He also enjoys sculpture because it allows him to design and work in 3 dimensions.

Stork studied art from 1978-1981 with the Moore School of Art, Melbourne and over the next twenty years undertook numerous private study trips throughout Europe.

In 2003 he enrolled in clay sculpture classes with Matcham Skipper at Montsalvat in Eltham, Victoria. In 2006 and 2008 he attended bronze casting from lost wax classes at the Australian  National University, Canberra.

Stork has had a number of solo exhibitions in Melbourne and has participated in numerous group shows. His awards include the Sir Arthur Streeton Award, Sherbrook Art Society 1986;  the Best Oil, Preston art Show 1990, and several  landscape awards at the Croydon Art Show, Melbourne.
