Exhibitions / Jane Walker

22.11.2012 to 06.12.2012

The paintings in this, Jane Walkers 25th solo exhibition, embrace a totality of responses. The freedom and spontaneity of each of her watercolours relate instinctively one to another  like the words of a poem.

The inspiration and immediacy of these paintings, with their transparent light and dramatic changes, is utterly captivating.

From the Kamesburgh Gardens to the sea, Walker embraces the full scale of nature.  She captures atmosphere, storms, and the stunning effects of shifting light. Enhancing these paintings are images of abundant wildlife of birds, dolphins and penguins.

The seasons are integral to this passing parade captured by the artist en plein aire as she visually records nature’s diverse moods and energies. Every hue in the cycle of nature with the changing light is represented in this  kaleidoscope of colours. As the sun sprinkles light onto new green leaves, slowly turning them to gold, a moment in time is captured forever.

My vision is sometimes serious but always colourful and fun. This exhibition embraces the moods of nature and its dramatic changes.

It is the transparency of watercolour that I find so fascinating.
